Engineer I

Primary Duties

  • Assist other Engineers and Craftsman in trouble shooting of design and or manufacturing methods and revise associated documentation as needed.
  • Evaluates, selects and applies standard techniques, procedures and criteria to perform tasks.
  • Processes RMA’s and associated Lab reports and seeks Eng. II / III or Sr. Engineer review & feedback prior to completing Lab reports.
  • Supports other Engineers during high capacity needs and absences, not permanently assigned to a specific Segment.
  • Supports Engineers II / III & Sr. Engineers on project tasks as & when required with tasks within this Job Description.
  • Participation in Oseco productivity & quality improvement events (Kaizen, 5S events) on an as required basis.
  • Obtains Project Mgmt. training (min. all available classes) and participates as Team member (CP2, CP3, CapEx) as well as progresses towards Project Manager role for CP2 & small CapEx (<$ 50K) projects.

Qualifications/Experience

Required:

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common:
    • Scientific journals
    • Legal documents
    • Industry Standards / Technical specifications
  • Ability to present effectively to Mid Mgmt. level executives
  • Ability to work effectively unsupervised and maintain agreed deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively & respectfully with Craftsman, Leads and other supporting staff team members.
  • Travel is estimated at approx. 10%

Desired:

  • Solid Works experience.
  • ERP system data input & maintenance.
  • Ability to prepare articles for Eng. III / Sr. Eng. Review & feedback prior to publication.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to customers and suppliers in verbal and written forms.

Education and /or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical Engineering), 0- 3 years applicable experience in an Engineering & Mfg. environment.
